VENUE

The x-bionic sphere is a world-class sporting venue catering for 27 Olympic disciplines and has been hosting championship triathlon races since 2017. Located in Šamorín, just 25km from Bratislava, Slovakia’s capital, the x-bionic sphere has everything you need is on site from training facilities to a stunning hotel catering for 1,150 guests and four restaurants. A purpose-built grandstand area will place athletes and spectators in the middle of the action with easy access to the swim venue, transition, athlete services, expo area and finish line.

You’ll race on the same streets as the pros, with age-group events having different length laps to provide an optimal mass-participation experience out on the course.

100KM race

100

km

At the first Collins Cup, the 100km race format provided the perfect blend of endurance strength and red-line speed to eke every morsel of effort from our professional athletes. Now it’s your turn to take on 100km of swim-bike-run action.

Presented by FORM, the event’s Official Swim Partner, the 2km wetsuit-legal freshwater swim will test your pacing and open-water skills. Once you’re through T1, you’ll embark on a stunning and seriously fast one-lap 80km closed-roads bike course.

Finally, it’s back to the x-bionic sphere for a flat run over four 4.5km laps that will also challenge you with the odd mixed-terrain section. The end of the run will lead you to a grandstand finish that’ll make you feel as much of a triathlon giant as our top pro athletes.

Precision Fuel & Hydration

Staying well fuelled and hydrated during your PTO Tour race is essential if you want to perform at your best (and avoid the dreaded DNF!).

That's why Precision Fuel & Hydration will be providing their award-winning electrolyte drinks, energy gels and chews on course.

Race-Day Nutrition

Here’s what’ll be available in your race pack on on-course at this year’s race.

Your race pack will include a packet of all-natural PH 1500 drink mix, a very strong electrolyte drink designed to help you start well hydrated.

Our aid stations will be stocked with PH 1000, a strong electrolyte drink designed to help you stay hydrated when you’re sweating. It contains around 2x as much sodium as a standard sports drink.

PF 30 Energy Gels will also be out on the course. They contain 30g of carb and have a very mild, neutral taste, reducing flavour fatigue during longer efforts. The texture is designed to reduce stickiness in the mouth and minimise the need to wash them down with fluid immediately.

PF 30 Energy Chews can feel more satisfying to eat than gels during longer races and when working at slightly lower intensities, making them a great way to mix up your fuelling plan. Each packet contains 2 chews efficiently delivering 15g of carb each. The “Original” flavour chews have a mild, neutral taste and look out for the Mint & Lemon chews for a refreshing option when you’re working hard in hot conditions.

Advice and Special Offers From Precision Fuel & Hydration

You’ll receive a detailed Fuelling and Hydration briefing email a few weeks before your event with advice on how to best use the products on course to maximise your performance.

If you want to try the on-course fuel and hydration in training, you can pick up a PTO Tour Taster Pack. Don’t forget to use the code DEATHTODNF to get 20% off your first order.

PTO Tour competitors will also have access to VIP support from the Precision Fuel & Hydration team in the build up to the big day, so you can be sure that you’re ready to race.

ENTRY INFO

Entries will be open until two weeks before the event date in order to process registrations. However there are a limited number of spots available for each event category.

No! All fees will be absorbed by the PTO, so the price you’ll see is what you’ll pay (with the exception of local sales taxes outside our control). We’re even including a full package of FinishPix photos to commemorate your race.

No. We have the option of including your biological sex, which will allow us to categorise you and make you eligible for age-group prizes. However, you can opt out of this during registration.

Unfortunately under World Triathlon rules, the minimum age for the 100km race is 18.

No, the event is open to everyone – there is no qualification procedure required.

You will need to either be a member of a national triathlon body such as British Triathlon or USAT or will be required to purchase a day licence in order to race.

The event provides insurance during the race as part of your entry fee, however, we strongly recommend you take out your own travel insurance.

Yes, your entry can be transferred to another athlete. Please email [email protected] with details of who you would like to transfer your place to in order to start the process.

PRE-EVENT INFO

You are allocated into an age-group bracket based on your age as of 31 December in the year the event takes place. The adult age groups start with 18-24 then 25-29, 30-34, 35-39 and so on.

Yes, we will have awards and prizes for the top-three athletes in each category.

Bratislava Airport (BTS) is a 25-30-minute drive to the event village at the x-bionic sphere.

Bratislava has a wide selection of accommodation options catering for your individual requirements. Accomodation is also available in Samorin with the on-site option being at the x-bionic sphere itself. Please take a look at the ‘Travelling To Bratislava’ section for more information.

Your race pack will be emailed to you close to the event date and will include all the final information you will need before making the trip to your race.

Once at the event village, head to the registration area where you’ll be prompted to display the Active Network QR code emailed to you following registration. You can either print this out or show it on your mobile device.

Bike racking in T1 will take place the day before your event. Please note this may change as we finalise event details.

Event registration will open on Thursday 18 August. Please note, this date may change as we finalise event details.

COURSE INFO

Age-groupers won’t take on exactly the same courses as the pros. This helps us manage the flow of athletes to give the best possible age-group experience and pro race coverage.

Route maps and more information about course accessibility will be added soon. We are currently finalising the details of courses with local authorities to ensure the best possible closed-roads race experience.

Swimming will be available at the venue prior to triathlon race day as part of our open water swimming event.

Wetsuits will be mandatory if the water temperature is below 15°C and forbidden if the water temperature is above 22°C. It is highly likely that the Collins Cup will be a wetsuit-legal event.

Yes, T1 and T2 will be in the same location.

We will be implementing a 20m drafting rule to ensure as fair a race as possible. Competitors will be spread across the course thanks to age-group wave starts.

The bike course is flat and fast, perfect for a quick time.

Road bikes, triathlon bikes and flat-bar hybrid bikes with road tyres are all suitable for the event.

The event makes use of public roads, so riding the course is possible prior to the event. Please take care while riding amongst traffic and obey the rules of the road.

The run will be mainly on hard surfaces and will also include the same mixed-terrain sections of path and a little grass tackled by the pros.

Yes, the run is accessible right from the x-bionic sphere.

About Slovakia

There’s so much to see, do and explore in Slovakia and thanks to the country’s relatively small size, many of its historical, ecological and cultural gems are accessible even during a short stay.

There are nine national parks with an abundance of natural beauty to behold including soaring mountain tops, enormous caves, breathtaking gorges, stunning karstic rock formations and lush forests. For history lovers, there are more than 100 castles and double that amount of manor houses, each with carefully tended gardens.

From its jaw-dropping UNESCO sites and chocolate-box villages to the vibrant, cultural melting pot of Bratislava with its unique architecture, fabulous food and welcoming people, Slovakia has something for everyone.

Social Referral Rebate

The PTO Tour Social Referral Rebate programme allows you to earn 100% of your entry fee back. All you need to do is refer three friends to the same race! Here’s how it works…

The Social Referral Rebate programme gives you 100% of your PTO Tour event entry back if you refer three other athletes who also register for the same event. It’s our way of rewarding you for spreading the word about our events.

Once you’ve completed registration, you will receive a registration confirmation email from Active Network. It’s easy to spot – the one with a big QR code in it!

In this email you’ll find a referral link to share with your friends, family, clubmates, clients or whoever else shares your passion for triathlon.

If someone else signs up for the event using your code, that registration counts towards one of your referrals. You’ll need three to get your entry fee rebate.

If you can’t find your link in your Active Network confirmation email, you can follow these steps to get your code.

  • Login to your Active Network account at: myevents.active.com
  • Scroll down until you locate your event registration
  • Directly under the registration, next to text that states: Refer your friends, followed by social media icons, click copy link to get your unique link.

Your entry refund will be processed on the last day of the same month in which your event takes place. It may take a few days to hit your account.

Yes – the relay captain could refer their other teammates to sign up. Team members who sign up will receive their own code upon registering.

No, only entries for the same event will count. So if you enter the Collins Cup, that’s the only event for which your referral link will be valid.

If a registration is transferred, no referral rebate will be applied.

Yes, the referral rebate will be applied based on registration fee of the new category.

No, cancelled registrants will not receive rebates.

In order to qualify, all referred athletes must have a valid registration on the day of the event, whether or not they actually take part in the event or not.

Yes! But the mechanism will be a little different to that outlined above. Please get in touch with us at [email protected] to start the process.

The Social Referral Rebate programme is non-transferrable. All referred athletes must have valid registrations on the day of the event. Referrals only valid for the same event signed up to by the original referrer. If referrer’s original entry is subsidised, the rebate amount will reflect the subsidised entry amount.

Cancellation policy

Injuries/Medical conditions

We understand that sometimes training for an event doesn’t go to plan, so we’re offering a 100% refund up to 21 days prior to the race if you get injured or have another medical issue that prevents you from taking part. For COVID-related cancellations, please see the section below.

All you need to do is send us a medical certificate/acknowledgment of your injury from a healthcare professional and we’ll refund you.

Please get in touch with us at [email protected] to start the process.

COVID

We know that COVID continues to add a level of uncertainty to planning triathlon event schedules but we’re committed to making sure you get the race experience you deserve.

As well as a full refund if the event itself is cancelled due to COVID,  we’re also offering a 100% refund if you’re unable to attend or race a PTO Tour event due to personal COVID related issues – such as a requirement to isolate following contact with an infected individual, infection with COVID, lack of sufficient recovery from a COVID infection or other similar reason.

All you need to do is submit evidence of your positive COVID test (PCR or antigen/lateral flow) or other supporting medical report confirming you inability to race.

Please get in touch with us at [email protected] to start the process.

Becoming a parent

Becoming a parent is an important time in any athlete’s life – and the inflexibility of your race schedule shouldn’t add to the stress. That’s why we’re offering a 100% refund up to 21 days prior to the event if you are imminently due to become a parent or have just become a parent and are prevented from racing due to this.

Please get in touch with us at [email protected] to start the process.

Other circumstances

For non-medical cancellation reasons more than 21 days out from the event, such as family emergencies, bereavements, relocation or other circumstances that prevent you from racing, please get in touch with us at [email protected] and we’ll be as flexible as we possibly can to avoid you missing out.

Covid info

There are currently no covid restrictions in place when travelling to Slovakia from any country. There is no requirement for vaccination passes, pre-travel tests or quarantine upon arrival.

We understand the powerful effect COVID has had on the triathlon world, so to reassure you we’ve put together a simple COVID protocols list and associated cancellation policy.

Covid Protocols

  • All local and national restrictions/guidelines in enforcement at the time of the event will be enforced in addition to any and all PTO COVID requirements which will be clearly communicated prior to the event.
  • All registered participants and anyone attending on site will be required to follow any mask wearing guidance that may be in place at the time of the event, all of which will be clearly signed.
  • If entering the country to attend the event, all registered participants and event attendees will be required to follow all travel restrictions in place at the time of travel.
  • All COVID protocols and policies are subject to change as the global COVID situation continues to evolve.
  • If any registered participant or supporter suspects that they may be infected with COVID you are strongly advised to get a test as soon as possible and should under no circumstances attend the event if you have tested positive for COVID within 7 days of the event.
  • If you have any questions or concerns you should contact the event organiser via [email protected]

Cancellation/Refund T&Cs

  • If any PTO Tour event is cancelled or postponed for any reason, COVID or other, all registered participants for the event in question will be eligible for a full refund
  • If a registered participant is not able to attend or race a PTO Tour event due to personal COVID related issues (i.e. requirement to isolate following contact with an infected individual, infection with COVID, lack of sufficient recovery from a COVID infection or other similar reason they will be eligible for a full refund. To process the refund the registered participant will be required to submit evidence of their positive COVID test (PCR or antigen/lateral flow) or other supporting medical report confirming their inability to race.
  • Any registered participant who wishes to request a refund for COVID-related reasons should contact the event organiser via the following email address sending an explanation of your reason for requesting a refund along with any supporting evidence (e.g. positive COVID test): [email protected]
