SWIM COURSE
The 2023 PTO US Open swim course features two 1000m laps. Athletes will start on the pontoon, diving into the water to begin the first lap, and swimming up the course before a 180-degree, clockwise turn at the single turnaround point before heading back to shore a long Australian exit that sees them run back up to the pontoon to dive back into the water for the second lap. At the end of lap two, the athletes will run from the water up into the transition area to ready themselves for the 80km bike course.

BIKE COURSE
The bike course at the 2023 PTO US Open in Milwaukee features seven 11.44km laps for a total of 80km. Athletes will power out of transition and on to an anti-clockwise, out-and-back route north to the top of the course before a dead-turn leading to a short dog-leg section and another 180-degree u-turn giving the athletes plenty of opportunity to scope out the competition. They’ll then head back through transition, giving spectators plenty of opportunities to see their heroes as they whip through each lap.
RUN COURSE
PTO US Open 2023 run course will see athletes leave T2 for five laps totalling 18km. Athletes will take off on an anti-clockwise loop along the waterfront down Oak Leaf Trail before hanging a right through Veterans Park and skirting East Lagoon Drive before turning back towards transition along North Lincoln Memorial Drive. Spectators will have the opportunity to watch their heroes up close as they come past the transition area on every lap of the run course. On the fifth and final lap, the athletes will turn off the lapped course and head for the finish line and glory.

Getting to Milwaukee
Milwaukee, located in the Midwest region of the United States, is easily accessible by various transportation options. Whether you’re travelling from within the US, Canada, or Europe, you’ll find that getting to Milwaukee for the PTO US Open is a breeze.
If you’re travelling within the US, the best option is to fly into General Mitchell International Airport (MKE), which is located just a few miles south of downtown Milwaukee. Many major airlines, such as American Airlines, Delta, and United, offer regular flights to MKE from cities across the US. Once you’ve landed, you can take a shuttle, taxi, or rental car to your final destination.
If you’re travelling from Canada, you can fly into MKE or take a drive across the border and into Milwaukee. Greyhound and Megabus also offer regular bus services from Canadian cities such as Toronto and Montreal to Milwaukee.
For those travelling from Europe, the best option is to fly into one of the major airports in the United States, such as O’Hare International Airport in Chicago or Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Airport and then take a connecting flight to MKE or take a bus or train to Milwaukee.
