Vancouver, Canada: The Professional Triathletes Organisation (PTO) has added a free 5km community run and a yoga experience, powered by lululemon, to its Vancouver T100 Triathlon weekend, taking place June 13-15, 2025.
The Sun Up 5K is set against the backdrop of Burrard Inlet, and will offer a scenic, sunrise loop along Vancouver’s shoreline, welcoming participants of all abilities—from casual walkers to seasoned runners. Inviting participants to go at whatever speed they feel comfortable, including a walk, this free event is designed to embrace the power of movement, mindfulness, and connection.
The experience will also continue beyond the 5km finish line with a complimentary outdoor yoga session designed to stretch, centre, and recover – in partnership with Canadian performance apparel company, lululemon. The event reflects a shared mission of the PTO and lululemon to support holistic wellbeing and build a sense of belonging through physical activity.
“We are thrilled to bring this energizing experience to the heart of the Vancouver T100 Triathlon weekend as a way of getting everyone involved,” said Sam Renouf, CEO at the PTO. “The Sun Up 5K and yoga session is about more than just physical exercise – it’s about celebrating community, embracing movement in all its forms, and starting the day together with intention and joy – and we’re excited to be partnering with lululemon, an iconic brand, to deliver it.”
“Community is at the heart of everything we do at lululemon – it’s how we first brought our brand to life here in Vancouver, and what we still believe in so firmly today,” said Celeste Burgoyne, President Americas, Global Guest Innovation, lululemon. “We’re honoured to be part of the Sun Up 5K and yoga session here in our hometown where many lululemon educators and employees will be part of the event, building connections and celebrating movement together. We look forward to seeing many of our Vancouver friends there!”
The Sun Up 5K is open to all and designed to complement the high-performance action of the T100 Triathlon World Tour professional women’s and men’s races with a more accessible and inclusive activation that reflects the vibrancy of Vancouver’s active lifestyle.
The PTO announced that Vancouver would join the 2025 T100 Triathlon World Tour at the start of the year. Organised by the PTO with local support from Do North Events, it will take place at Jericho Beach Park and be one of the hero events from an extensive list of major sporting events being staged in the city by Destination Vancouver. It showcases the top 20 professional female and top 20 professional male triathletes in the world racing over the new 100km distance (2km swim, 80km bike, 18km run) as well as giving the opportunity for amateurs to take part and do their own 100km triathlon on the same course as the pros or a Sprint (750m swim, 20km bike, 5km run) or Junior Super Sprint (350m swim, 10km bike, 2km run) distance triathlon.
