About

We’re offering a behind-the-scenes opportunity to work with the team shaping the culture, structure, and operations of a high-growth global sports startup. As our HR Intern, you’ll support meaningful, people-first projects that sit at the heart of how we work, grow, and build a values-led business.

This isn’t your typical admin internship – you’ll contribute to live, high-impact initiatives, working closely with the People Partner on the processes and experiences that drive a thriving company culture.

  • Location: London
  • Duration: 6 months (with potential to extend)
  • Reporting to: People Partner

Key Role Responsibilities

People Operations & Process Improvement

  • Work with the People Partner to streamline internal processes (e.g. onboarding, policy access, benefits comms)
  • Support employee lifecycle documentation projects (e.g. role scorecards, manager toolkits, development frameworks)

Compensation & Benchmarking Projects

  • Assist in updating our salary benchmarking data across departments and markets
  • Conduct market research to support equitable and scalable compensation planning

Culture & Core Values Activation

  • Work on how we embed our core EDGE values into key frameworks and processes, making them visible and actionable across the employee experience
  • Brainstorm and prototype creative ways to embed values into team life
  • Contribute to our Culture Calendar, coming up with fun initiatives and social opportunities to enhance team cohesion

Engagement & Experience

  • Working alongside our Executive Assistant & Project Coordinator, contribute to planning internal engagement initiatives (e.g. team socials, recognition moments)
  • Analyse employee feedback themes and propose actionable ideas for improvement
  • Help maintain and improve key HR systems and documentation

Who We’re Looking For

  • Recent graduate looking to gain experience in People, Culture, or HR
  • Curious about how great teams are built and how culture is shaped in a high-growth company
  • Organised, proactive, and keen to get stuck into meaningful projects – not just admin
  • You have a keen eye for detail and enjoy working with both people and systems (spreadsheets, docs, comms)
  • Passionate about fairness, inclusion, and building a workplace where people thrive
  • You might be studying HR, psychology, business, sociology, or something completely different – what matters is your attitude and interest in learning

The PTO Values: The EDGE we seek

  • Entrepreneur at Heart: A ‘Doer’ who thinks and acts like a founder, driving impact and pushing boundaries to achieve key results. You like getting ‘stuck in’ and making sure that great ideas come to life and deliver real change.
  • Dynamic Innovator: An adaptable individual who thrives in fast paced environments, seeking new opportunities to drive progress.
  • Growth Mindset: Embraces challenges as opportunities, bouncing back stronger from every setback. There is nothing you can’t do if you apply yourself fully.
  • Equality of voice: A. Team. Player. Able to inspire and motivate others, bringing energy, innovation, and a can-do attitude to our startup environment.

Here at PTO we are committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive work environment. We believe that diversity of thought, background, and experience, enhances creativity, innovation, and a more dynamic working environment that delivers better results.
