Samorin, Bratislava: The Professional Triathletes Organisation (PTO) and its partner Warner Bros. Discovery Sports have agreed a deal with Slovakia’s national broadcaster, RTVS, to stream the Collins Cup live on its website this Saturday (20 August).
The live action (12:30-1900) will be followed by a full highlights package on Wednesday (24 August) on their broadcast channel carrying all the thrills and spills of the second Collins Cup as Team Europe, Team US and Team International go into battle to claim the title of world champions of the sport.
The agreement was overseen by Warner Bros. Discovery Sports in its role as the PTO’s right partner in Europe and select international territories.
RTVS Head of Sports, Mr.Matej Hajko, said: “It was a real honour for the country to host the inaugural Collins Cup last year, so to be able to stream the action live across the country this year is very exciting and feeds the increased levels of interest in the sport.”
The announcement also adds to an impressive raft of broadcast deals which ensure the first-ever PTO Tour season will be seen in more than 170 markets.
“Slovakia has been a fantastic host market for The Collins Cup, which has been a clear factor in RTVS wanting to come on board and show the race. We’ve assembled another world class line up of the world’s best triathletes from Team Europe, Team US and Team International, so should be in for some great racing this weekend,” said PTO Chief Marketing Officer, Tim Godfrey.

About the Professional Triathletes Organisation
The PTO is a new body co-owned by professional triathletes, seeking to take the sport to the next level and see it grow and thrive. The inaugural PTO Tour race schedule for 2022 includes: the first-ever PTO Canadian Open (July 23-24); the second edition of $1.5M Ryder Cup-style Collins Cup (August 20), which sees Team Europe take on Team US and Team International; and the first PTO US Open (September 17-18). Each Open carries a minimum prize purse of $1M and will be raced over 100km (2km swim, 80km bike and 18km run). In 2023 and 2024, the PTO Tour plans to expand with the PTO European Open and the PTO Asian Open, alongside their US and Canadian equivalents and the Collins Cup.
