The Team Internationals #6 has produced a number of impressive performances, and has now won three of her last four starts at Taupo, CHALLENGEWANAKA and the PTO-supported Rotorua Suffer.
Hannah didn’t have it all her own way in Taupo in her first full-distance outing – she trailed Rebecca Clarke by more than five minutes coming out of the water and had it all to do on land.
Hannah soon took to the front on two wheels though, and didn’t relinquish her lead the rest of the way. She was more than 11 minutes faster than Clarke over the 180km bike course.
A 3:10:50 marathon completed her fantastic day, again the fastest split of the entire field.
A total time of 9:01:49 in her first professional full-distance race will certainly have caught the attention of the Team Internationals captains with Collins Cup spots up for grabs over the next few months.
“Wow what a day!” Hannah exclaimed on her Instagram account after taking victory.
“IRONMAN distance sure is a long way! Yesterday was about tackling the tough moments and embracing the good ones through my first IRONMAN, aiming to deliver a pretty consistent day and enjoy my first ever long-distance race.
“So stoked I was able to do that and to take home the win on top is so special.”
