Head To Head In Ibiza
We’re still working on the final swim, bike and run courses for the PTO European Open, but rest assured you’ll have plenty of opportunities to get up close to your heroes as they battle to be crowned the first-ever PTO European Open Champion.
The race will kick-off with a 2km sea swim, favouring those athletes used to navigating the swell of ocean waters though the salty buoyancy could also benefit those whose major strengths are the bike and run – especially if the water temperature allows for wetsuits. An Aussie exit between laps will give the athletes the chance to scope out the competition and is also an opportunity for a quick sprint up a couple of places.
After a fast transition, things will heat-up under the Mediterranean sun on to the 80km bike course. The bike leg will also feature multiple laps so you can take to side of the closed-roads course and get your T-shirt whirling in support of the athletes. Or, stick to the grandstand area by transition to keep an eye on the race broadcast via the big screen.
Once off the bike and through T2, it’ll be onto a lapped run as the strongest cyclists try to hold strong ahead of the running specialists, who are sure to claw back positions with their rapid footwork. Whoever’s on track to take the win, don’t miss the chance to line the finish chute and feel the thrill as they take high-fives and the tape to become PTO European Open Champion.
