London, UK: The Professional Triathletes Organisation (PTO) has announced a new partnership with deboer, who will become the Official Wetsuit & Performance and Training Swimwear Partner of the T100 Triathlon World Tour for the next three years.
The wetsuit brand is the market leader and has a decade-long tradition of engineering wetsuits using the most advanced raw materials. deboer has revolutionized its field in the last few years by working with Santara Tech, a cutting-edge laboratory founded by world-class athletes, coaches and sports scientists, to create the X-Skin™ for its new FJORD 3.0 wetsuit, which minimizes drag to create extra speed. The partnership will begin at the first race of 2024 – the Miami T100 – which is hosted at the CLASH Endurance Miami weekend taking place at the Homestead-Miami Speedway in Florida, 9-10 March.
Speaking about the new partnership, Jordan Bryden, Global Marketing Director at deboer, said: “Over the past few years, the sport of triathlon has evolved in exciting new ways. deboer is passionate about the recent growth we have seen in participation and performance. Much as we have seen advancements in cycling through the use of the wind tunnel, or in running with the creation of carbon-plated shoes, we have found that the performance advancements in swimming have been vastly overlooked. deboer is proud to commit to new technology in the pursuit of shattering records and helping everyday athletes have their best swim ever. Much like T100 and the PTO have committed to the new benchmarks in the world of triathlon racing, we are committed to new benchmarks in the water.”
Alex deBoer, founder of deboer, was enthusiastic to see this partnership come to fruition. “The T100 represents the new pinnacle of performance in the sport of triathlon and will continue to grow in ways we cannot yet fully comprehend. We are excited to support this growth and be involved in what is likely only the start of this journey to a new level of racing and excellence in our sport.”
This is the third big partnership the PTO has signed – following Maurten and Garmin – off the back of last month’s big announcement that it has rebranded the PTO Tour as the T100 Triathlon World Tour and expanded it from three to eight races as well as announced a stacked line up of 40 of the world’s leading triathletes – 20 women and 20 men. The line up includes deboer athletes: Emma Pallant-Browne, Ben Kanute, Daniel Baekkegard, Chelsea Sodaro, Rico Bogen, Skye Moench, Bradley Weiss, and Amelia Watkinson.
Commenting on the tie-up with deboer, PTO CEO Sam Renouf said:
“We are delighted to be partnering with deboer. They have shown over the last few years their absolute obsession to create the best wetsuits for leading athletes, by working with the best scientists and best coaches. We share that obsession to make the new T100 Triathlon World Tour the pinnacle of our sport and help elevate our amazing athletes further into the mainstream.”
The partnership activation with deboer will include: swim cap branding for Professionals and Age Groupers; social media content; competitions that engage with the T100 age grouper community; and on-site activations. To celebrate the start of the partnership, deboer is excited to be giving away a Men’s and a Women’s Fjord 3.0 wetsuit, the same suit used by their pro team. To enter, simply visit www.winadeboer.com
