PTO Adds Singapore’s Mediacorp To Growing 2023 PTO Tour Roster

PTO Tour 2023

London, UK: The Professional Triathletes Organisation (PTO) has added Singapore’s Mediacorp to its growing roster of broadcasters for the 2023 PTO Tour.

Mediacorp is Singapore’s largest content creator and national media network, operating a suite of TV channels, radio stations and multiple digital platforms. It will show the PTO Asian Open in Singapore ‘live’ on mewatch, its digital streaming platform, alongside a preview programme and race highlights show that will also be broadcast on Channel 5, its English language free-to-air channel.

The rest of the deal includes showing on mewatch highlights of the other PTO Tour races, which currently includes the inaugural PTO European Open in Ibiza (6 May) and the PTO US Open in Milwaukee (4-5 August), as well as short form PTO content profiling its superhuman athletes and their amazing back stories.

Commenting on the deal, Tim Godfrey, Chief Marketing Officer at the PTO, said:

“We are excited to have reached a deal with Mediacorp to show the first-ever PTO Asian Open for free on their channels here in Singapore. Staged around the iconic Marina Bay Financial District only a month before the Singapore F1 Grand Prix takes place on the same streets, it underlines the city’s growing status as the sporting capital of Asia and adds to an already impressive line-up of sporting content across their different platforms.”

Mediacorp joins SPOTV, which the PTO announced last month, and Warner Bros. Discovery, DAZN, ESPN and Fox Australia amongst others showing the 2023 PTO Tour this year, meaning it will be screened in 195 territories across the globe.

In its first season, the 2022 PTO Tour delivered on its goal to bring longer distance Triathlon to a broader audience, including a global dedicated TV and streaming audience of 23.1 million across multiple top-tier broadcast partnerships.

Dale Levin, SVP, Co-Head of Media, APAC, IMG added: “This deal is another example of how we’re working with the PTO to drive its commercial growth around the world and attract new, in market audiences. Having the PTO Asian Open available for free on Mediacorp’s channels in Singapore is a great fillip.”
