Run 1
The first run is on flat, paved surfaces and provides the most scenic view from within the heart of Singapore’s iconic skyline. Standard Duathlon competitors will take on one 4.5km lap, while Long Duathlon competitors will kick off with two laps for a total of 9km.
From transition, you will skirt the waterside, turning right to navigate around the ArtScience Museum and under the Benjamin Sheares Bridge before continuing through the Gardens by the Bay to the turn-around point. Then it’s back towards the Marina Bay Sands Hotel to complete each lap.
During each 4.5km lap, you will be able to top up with fuel and hydration at two aid stations per lap. At the end of Run 1, you’ll reach transition to ready yourself for the bike course.
Cut-off
The experienced age-group triathlon is before the professional race, which means there will be cut-off times imposed on each leg to ensure we’re ready to roll for the cameras at 3pm. Please take note of these cut-off timings prior to registering for the race.
Run cut-off: 6 hours 30 minutes after your swim wave start
The Bike
The bike course takes place on a 16km long, closed city circuit route starting and finishing at Marina Bay. The fast course is on smooth tarmac with low rolling resistance and is made up of two 16km laps for Standard Distance athletes (32km) and four 16km laps for Long Distance athletes (64km).
What sets this course apart from any other is the location – smack in the middle of the city with stunning views of Marina Bay and the city skyline. You’ll cycle past many of the city’s most iconic landmarks including the ArtScience Museum, Helix Bridge, Singapore Flyer, Gardens by the Bay and Marina Bay Sands hotel as well as crossing the Benjamin Sheares Bridge.
The total elevation of the bike course is approximately 700m. Each lap has an aid station to give you the opportunity to top up on energy and hydration.
At the end of the bike you’ll return to the transition area to get ready for the second run.
